Tips for a Magical Christmas

Things to do to have a Magical Christmas

Christmas is the most magical time of year. Everybody is trying to keep with the spirit of Christmas and make unforgettable memories and traditions for their families.

Try some of these tips and things to do for a magical Christmas and your kids will want to keep these traditions every year.

See the Christmas lights around

Most towns make a big deal out of switching on the Christmas lights. These events are a great opportunity to take some family photos and get into the Christmas spirit. Treacys Hotel, in Enniscorthy, normally switch on our Christmas lights on November with a little help from Santa’s elves who will be popping down from Enniscorthy Santa’s Enchanted Castle, a magical Santa experience for all the family.

In Enniscorthy town, also to attend the switch-on of Enniscorthy Christmas lights it is a must thing to do with the kids in Wexford. The switch-on is normally late November and all the characters from Santa’s Enchanted Castle with a parade from the castle are there to help Santa.

Choosing your Christmas tree

While having an artificial Christmas tree is convenient, there is nothing more magical and entertaining than taking the whole family to pick a live tree.

In Enniscorthy, the Wheelock Christmas Tree Farm is a great place for your family to choose your tree.

Watching Christmas Movies

As the temperature starts to drop outside, there is nothing more appealing than watching some Christmas Movies in front of a warm fire with a nice mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows.
These movies will only add to the anticipation and excitement. Our favourite Christmas movies are “The Polar Express” and “Elf”.

Wexford Omniplex Cinema during the Christmas holidays offers great Christmas movies hits from all times for all the family to enjoy.

Make Reindeer Food

Mix together some porridge oats and some glitter and you have some “Magic Reindeer Food”. Sprinkle the mix of oats and glitter in the yard – the glimmer in the moonlight will light the way for Santa and his sleigh and the reindeer will have something to eat after all their hard work.

Make a Christmas Eve Box

This is a great tradition to start and it adds a little magic and sparkle to Christmas Eve for kids of all ages.
A simple box filled with Christmas Eve treats like a snuggly pair of Pyjamas, some hot chocolate and mini marshmallows and a Christmas book or movie.

The activity that every child looks forward to the most is visiting Santa.
